Meet local Beekeeper Kevin Thorne and The Bee Farmers’ Wife, Julie Thorn, and learn all about the fascinating life of the Honey Bee and the importance of these amazing creatures. There will also be lots of opportunities to taste their amazing honey and beeswax products.

11.45  Karen Cannard – The Rubbish DietIn 2008 Karen started a blog called The Rubbish Diet, writing about her attempts to slim her bin. In the last ten years she has gone from tackling her own bin at home to helping thousands of others to reduce their waste.  Karen is BBC Radio Suffolk’s Bin Doctor, a columnist for the Bury Free Press and advisor to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s BBC 1 series Hugh’s War on Waste. Come along and meet Karen and get lots of top tips and advice on cutting down on all sorts of household and food waste.
12.30  The Edible MuseumChocolate human hearts and fingers, tasty toads and edible fossils; these are just some of the unique confections created by Sarah Hardy at The Edible Museum. Sarah is a classically trained artist who today, uses chocolate as her medium. Her amazing creations have been used for food stunts and edible scenes in films such as Alien.

Join Sarah as she shares stories about how The Edible Museum all started and along the way she’ll  give away some of the secrets on how she makes her jaw-dropping chocolates and show stoppers!

1.15  Moo Moo CakesFiona Murphy is chief baker at Moo Moo Cakes in Cavendish and the winner of ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Suffolk Food and Drink Awards. Fiona is a self taught baker using unrefined sugars and a mix of organic, local and seasonal ingredients to produce ‘eat me’ cakes including  her famous ‘Suffolk Root Cake’. Come and meet Fiona in the Fringe Tent when she will share her experience and tips on baking moreish cakes that everyone can enjoy, be it gluten free, dairy free, egg free or vegan.
2pm  Grow Your Community Dan Wheals of ActivLives will be chatting about the work he does in Sudbury where he gives local people the opportunity to start growing plants and vegetables in small spaces in the town centre. If you are interested in growing more and you’d like to get involved then come along and meet Dan who will also be selling some of the produce and plants they have grown this year.

Matthew Rooney, botanist, forager and mushroom grower will be rounding up the Fringe tent with a fascinating insight into Mushrooms. For all those budding foragers, foodie lovers and gardeners amongst us, make sure you come along and learn from Matthew’s wealth of knowledge on all things Mushroom and Fungi!
